In this 4 hour workshop, we will learn the magic of natural dyeing from immersion dyeing in vats to bundle dyeing with flowers and extracts from plants. We will also see how easy it can be to create a 3-2-1 indigo vat.
We will also explore different ways to distress and repair! Having spent my career in denim wash development, it is my favorite to teach how to distress your jeans.
I will have a variety of items to choose from to start your exploration with and ask that you bring 1-2 personal items (no large items ie coats, linens) to repurpose. Your personal items should be natural fiber and washed. We will begin the workshop with a mordant lesson to prepare them for dye.
